Two processes, different strengths
Foil technology and digital print are often mentioned in the same breath in advertising technology — but they solve different problems. Which process fits depends mainly on duration of use, surface and the level of detail required.
Foil technology: durable and weatherproof
Cut or printed foils are especially suited to applications meant to last months or years: vehicle graphics, shop window lettering, floor markings or permanent signage. They are weather-resistant and can be applied to many surfaces — from glass to metal to painted panels.
Digital print: fast, flexible, detailed
Digital print shows its strengths for short-term campaigns and complex artwork: trade show banners, roll-ups, posters or displays with photos and fine colour gradients. Small print runs and custom formats can also be produced economically.
A quick decision guide
- Long-term lettering on vehicles, windows or facades → foil technology.
- Short-term campaign, trade show or event → digital print.
- Photographic artwork with fine gradients → digital print.
- Single-colour logos and lettering that need to last → foil technology.
Conclusion
In many projects we combine both processes — for example a foil-lettered vehicle fleet paired with matching digital-print banners for your next trade show. In a consultation we work out which combination is most economical for your project.
